Echocardiography in Adult Congenital Heart Disease: Where Are We Now?
Echocardiography in Adult Congenital Heart Disease: Where Are We Now?
Echocardiography is fundamental to the care of adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD), yet ACHD-specific guidance remains limited. Current practice is largely informed by the 2018 ISACHD consensus statement and the 2022 British Society of Echocardiography practical guideline, alongside more recent work exploring the expanding role of three?dimensional echocardiography in ACHD.
Through this initiative, ESANZ reflects on the current state of ACHD echocardiography and looks ahead to the opportunity to lead and shape education, collaboration, and standards across Australia and New?Zealand. The aim is to support high?quality, consistent, and contemporary echocardiographic care for a growing and increasingly complex ACHD population whose care demands specialised imaging expertise.
