Dr Ellen Woodcock

Dr Ellen Woodcock is an experienced cardiac sonographer and clinical academic based in New Zealand. Her current research investigates the clinical impact of applying ethnic specific reference ranges and indexing approaches, to account for body habitus, with the aim of creating an evidence-base to ensure the delivery of best practice echocardiography in Aotearoa.
Professional Roles & Academic Positions
- Currently the co-specialisation lead for the PGDipHSc (Cardiac Ultrasound) at the University of Auckland.
- Awarded a Health Sciences M?ori Early Career Research Fellowship from the University of Otago in 2024.
- Ellen has worked in clinical cardiology for over 20 years and completed her PhD in 2015 before undertaking her formal echocardiography training.
