Dr Katherine Lau

Dr Lau obtained her medical degree from the University of Queensland and completed advanced training in cardiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane.

She went on to undertake a two-year fellowship in echocardiography and structural cardiology at The Prince Charles Hospital. Dr Lau is currently a Senior Staff Specialist at The Prince Charles Hospital and also consults at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Brisbane.

Dr Lau is a structural echocardiologist with advanced expertise in valvular heart disease and interventional imaging in heart failure. She has presented at national and international cardiology conferences, contributed procedural imaging to national device trials, and serves as a proctor in valvular implantation imaging.

She is also actively engaged in medical education and holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Queensland
