[Tweets @EM_Vata] am a medical graduate from Kolkata, India, completed my emergency medicine training through the Royal College of Emergency physicians, UK. Presently a FACEM at Armadale hospital in Western Australia where I arrived in 2012.
He has worked in India, the Middle East, UK and Australia and the experience of different health systems has vastly influenced me as an emergency physician. I continue to provide strong mentorship to junior FACEMs in their development as well as trying to be inspirational to residents and registrars in their journey through emergency medicine.
I have led point of care ultrasound practice and training at his hospital and has founded the Armadale Ultrasound School. With echocardiography and regional anaesthesia as my main passion, I demonstrated through real-life cases, the importance of point of care echo in emergency medicine, such that it has become an integral part of patient care in my unit and many EM trainees have obtained CCPU in rapid cardiac assessment during their time in Armadale.
